Culture Changers -- LifeChasers

Cultures Changers are not spectators. They want to make a difference in the world for good and for God. It might mean rallying financial support for a battered women’s shelter, challenging bias in the media through a letter to the editor or bridging the racial divide by coaching an inner-city baseball team.

Culture Changers are also people who have something to teach us about how we need to change in order to be more effective influencers. Let's face it. Before change can happen through us, it often must happen to us.

Let these Culture Changers ignite your own passions. What corner of the world do you want to influence?

"If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered."
Proverbs 21:13

Did you know that if the world’s population were turned into a small community of just 100, keeping the same proportions that exist in the world’s population today, 50 people would be malnourished, 70 would be illiterate, and 80 would live in substandard housing. Half of the world’s wealth would be in the hands of 6 Americans and only one person would have a university education.

To further enlarge your heart and increase your understanding of the needs of the poor, click here to view a 4-min. video created by Blackhawk Church in Madison, Wisconsin and used with their permission.

The video requires that you have Apple Quicktime installed on your computer. It can be quickly downloaded at no charge at www.quicktime.com and will not interfere with any other media player currently installed on your computer.

"Stand in the places of injustice and oppression and stand in the places of power and wealth. Stand beside the good and the evil. Stand with the sick and dying in Calcutta and with the sick and dying in the singles bars of New York. Stand in the world as a missionary of God's reconciliation, who does not want to give the world what it asks [for] nearly as much as he wants to give himself."
