Statement of Beliefs
These are the core beliefs of LifeChasers:
- The Bible is unique, inspired by the Holy Spirit and written
without error in the original manuscripts. It is the final authority
in all matters on which it speaks.
- There is one true God, eternally existing in three personsFather,
Son and Holy Spirit.
- Man was originally created in the image of God but sinned by
disobeying God. This alienated us from our Creator and placed
all mankind under divine condemnation.
- Jesus Christ took on human form through a miraculous conception
by the Holy Spirit and birth by the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless
life and voluntarily paid the penalty for the sins of all of us
by dying on the cross as our substitute--thus satisfying divine
justice and accomplishing salvation for anyone who trusts in Him
alone.
- Christ rose from the dead and returned to God, the Father, in
heaven where He continues to intercede on our behalf. He will
one day return to earth to consummate history and judge all people
with justice and mercy.
- The salvation of Man is totally due to Gods free grace
and is not the result of human works or goodness or religious
ceremony. Anyone who accepts by faith this generous gift of salvation
is promised new life, forgiveness of sins and a restored relationship
with God.
- The Holy Spirit convicts and draws us to Christ, gives us spiritual
rebirth and seals our salvation until we stand in the presence
of God in heaven after our death. The Holy Spirits power
in our lives makes it possible to pursue a life that honors God.
- Believers in Jesus Christ are members of His universal Church
worldwide. God designed the local church as a place where His
people gather to worship Him, grow spiritually, observe the sacraments
of baptism and communion, and love and serve each other.
- Having embraced Christ by faith, we are invited to make Him
known to others in our sphere of influence and throughout the
world. Further, our lives are to reflect His values and honor
Him in word and deed.
- Our lives are to be marked by love, grace, unity with each other
and a servant heartespecially when it comes to addressing
the needs of the poor and the under-resourced, whether they are
in our backyard or across the globe.
LifeChasers does not take a formal position on other more obscure
doctrine about which Bible-based believers hold differing views.
